Motivational Story - Outwork Your Talent

Greetings! Below is a fantastic quote that represents everything we continually speak about on what makes an athlete reach peak performance on a continual basis? This comes from Jean-Claude Killy, one of the greatest Olympic Champions, who captured “3” Gold Medals in Skiing during the 1968 Winter Games in Grenoble, France.

He says: “People ask me many times what makes a great athlete? It takes the Gift; but besides the Gift, it takes the availability of the Mind which permits Total Control of all the Elements that lead to Success and Total Composure.”

This particular message is going to emphasize that the true measuring stick of an athlete is not always by your individual statistics; rather hustle and effort is more times than not what sticks in the mind of a Pro Scout or Personnel Director who may see you play one time only in a season?

The other day, I read a story where a National Football League Scout called on a college head coach to chat about a player the day after he scored five touchdowns. Know that this accomplishment was not the first thing the Scout brought up? He was more taken away by this player’s determination who at one time in the game, had hustled back many yards to tackle an opposing player who had recovered a fumble and was nearing the end zone for a score. That was the one moment the Scout had Framed in his Mind and wanted to get a reaction from the player’s head coach. Never forget how much Effort Counts when the votes get cast and teams begin to draw up their Draft Boards!

ALWAYS REMEMBER:

* Trust in Your Heart! It knows your Path you must take to reach your ultimate destiny!

* Not all storms come to disrupt your life. Some come to clear your path.
