Powerful Must Watch Video for every Athlete - Actor Will Smith

“The separation of Talent and Skill is one of the greatest misunderstood concepts for people who are trying to excel, who have dreams, who want to do things. Talent you have naturally. Skill is only developed by hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft” – Will Smith

With the New Year just a few days away, it is always good to step back. Take a break and analyze where you’re at and where you’re going? Sometimes a certain spark is all that’s needed to light your inner pilot light and to help re-boot your mindset?

I ask you to take time – actually to take 10 minutes and 46 seconds of your day
to sit and watch the video link we've provided below. It is from a collection of speeches given by famed Hollywood entertainer Will Smith.

His words are powerful and to the point. Remember that sometimes a change of perspective is all it takes to help a person see the light.

HOW WILL SMITH’S GRANDMOTHER IMPACTED HIS CAREER

When Will Smith was 12 years old. He created a rap book using his own words. Some that rhymed and some that were seen as offensive and vulgar. One day his Grandmother Gigi found his book. She never spoke to Will directly about her findings but wrote a personal message in the very back page where he would find it one day. It simply said:

“Dear Willard, truly intelligent people do not have to use words like this to express themselves. Please show the world that you’re as smart as we think you are. Love GG.”

Said Will many years later: “That was probably the single most impactful event that shaped how I led and how I still lead my career today.”
